I hope he's got his dream job now.13 Conclusion Sword Coast Legends Summary Overall SCL was a fantastic game from an audio perspective with nicely implemented WWise tech, a great score, and great sound design. Special thanks to Tony, the audio director for Sword Coast Legends, who was always one of the most interactive members of the nSpace team as well as an all around cool dude. While SCL wasn't everyone's cup of tea, to me it was a great game that got killed in the cradle. Obviously all credit for these sounds go to nSpace.

SCL has additional NPC voicesets that are more extensive (like drow, duergar, and goblins) as well as ~15 PC voicesets that I will be doing in the near future.įeedback: Please let me know if any of the sounds aren't balanced (too loud or too low) as the files went from BNK archives to WEM to OGG to WAV and it's possible the balance got lost on some of them. The 30 included creatures are: Bear, Beholder, Belaphoss (a Balor), Brain Golem, Bugbear, Draegloth, Dretch, Ghoul, Hezrou, Hook Horror, Intellect Devourer, Illithid, Imp, Kobold, Mimic, Ogre, Ooze/Jelly, Orc, Otyugh, Quasit, Skeleton, Spider, Troll, Umber Hulk, Undead Mind Flayer, Vrock, Wolf, Worg, Zombie Ogre, Zombie.Įach creature soundset contains 11 sounds that are used in-game by the engine: To use these, unzip into your Override folder. Also included is a partial override of Intellect Devourer (replaces 11 sounds, leaves the rest as is).

sclvooverride.zip contains override versions of Bear, Beholder, Bugbear, Ghoul, Hook Horror, Jelly, Kobold, Mephit, Mindflayer, DevilBig, Ogre, Orc, Skeleton, Spider, Troll, Umber Hulk, Vrock, Wolf, Worg, and Zombie. Some creatures don't have models in vanilla NWN (ex: Otyugh) so a replacement creature was used with their name changed to "Fake" whatever they are meant to represent (ex: Fake Otyugh, Fake Dretch) Clicking on them will cycle through the relevant soundset and bark out which sound is being played. In the module's one area there is a commoner faction creature for each sound painted down.

There are three archives to download: #1 is meant for builders, #2 is meant for hearing and testing the sounds, #3 is for client side override: I labelled them according to what Sword Coast Legends used them for, but obviously use them for whichever creatures you choose-you might not have a draegloth but the sounds might be great for something else. Some of them I don't love based on sound direction but that's a matter of personal taste. Here are 30 creature soundsets from nSpace's ill-fated Sword Coast Legends and a couple extra sounds like Beholder beams for builders to use while scripting.
